Vango Spirit 200+
It has finally stopped raining. I have been wondering if I would ever get a chance to pitch my tent.I bought it three years or so ago and I have never used it or even pitched it in the garden. To make matters worse I seem to have lost the pitching instructions. " How hard can it be!" I said as I went into the back garden this afternoon.
"Too hard!" was the answer as I ended with a bundle of fibreglass poles. However all was not lost as U Tube came up trumps with a video on how to achieve what had seemed impossible.
It took me about an hour to get the tent up (ten minutes it said on the Vango web site)
I am pleased with the space that is available in this tent which weighs just 3.1 kg
I took it down and packed it away in about ten minutes.
Having downloaded instructions I thought I had better have another try (if only to keep Pauline happy) Second time around it was much easier and it was probably up in less than fifteen minutes.
I am much happier now for I am confident that I will be able to pitch it and break camp in about ten minutes once I am on the road.

Having sorted the tent I turned my attention to the next most important piece of equipment my stove. It has seen no use for five years. It is hard to believe it is five years since my last big adventure. I had long since forgotten how it worked. However there are only so may ways that the limited parts could go together and so I succeeded quite quickly.
I am once again impressed at how well designed it is.
Any suggestions for one pot meals gratefully received.
Brian - hope the sun and progress being made have underlined your ability to complete this awesome challenge. Have a wee glass of wine and a few thousand calories and you will be all set. Scotland, England and The Netherlands are already behind you. That is pretty damn good in such a short time. B&S
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouragement as always very welcome. I am sticking to beer mainly. My excuse is I need the liquid.
