Peter from Koln |
Holland's coast is a series of fingers or peninsulas joined by causeways bridges dams or ferries

Industrial Holland |
Peter was following his super all singing gps and I was following the signs so we made good progress.
We had lunch in the tourist town of Renesse then continued to cross the peninsulas.
I counted five dams crossed.
I counted five dams crossed.
Eventually Peter veered inland, East towards Bergen op Zoom and then Antwerp.
I continued ever south until I caught the ferry from Vlissingen to Breskens.
I don't know how long it took because the old man fell asleep. I think I must have snored because the lady who had been beside me was nowhere to be seen and the folks further along were amused.

Campsites that allow tents and are not huge holiday complexes are like hen's teeth but thanks to a Breskens resident out for a walk I rolled into a quaint site in Nieuvweke Bad.
5 euros for a wi fi code seemed expensive so I hooked up to electricity without paying.
Just as well because nearby the only restaurant within walking distance charged me 20 euros for burger and chips and a beer. It was a very nice burger served in an innovative way but it was still a very expensive burger.
Holland is expensive
But my most expensive purchase was to be further south, just outside Ghent in cafe Delphine.
Side of the road, nothing fancy, 3.5 euros for an espresso
